The Perfect Candidate You Didn't Know About – July 7/08
Smart people know that the more information you have, the better your decision-making capability. The search process works the same way.
First, by broadening your research activities to include other related functions and industries, you open up a larger pool of potentially qualified candidates. But just as importantly, by being flexible and open-minded in your hiring criteria, you'll have a more diverse selection of candidates than you might have by rigidly focusing on a particular skill set, training or functional experience.
If you really want to be sure you're meeting with the most talented and qualified individuals out there, be sure you’re viewing the full picture and getting all the information that's available to you.
