The organization currently has more than 200 products available, and more in development, as well as patents pending for proprietary manufacturing methods and product formats.

The Position

The Purchasing Manager provides leadership and coaching to purchasing team, and is responsible for the global purchasing activities that support the company's mandate to provide high quality, cost effective products.

The Purchasing Manager administers the tendering process through preparation of relevant documentation, evaluates responses to requests & tenders, prepares contracts based upon responses, and negotiates prices, commercial terms and conditions for the procurement of MRO equipment, supplies and services, and Capital Equipment.

In addition, the Purchasing Manager prepares recommendations and negotiates prices, commercial terms and conditions for the procurement of MRO equipment, supplies and services, and Capital Equipment.

The individual is also tasked with implementing and overseeing a supplier review process, and initiating a continuous improvement system to reduce costs and maintain or increase quality of procured services.

The Candidate

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications, experience and personal competencies:

  • Five to ten years experience within a purchasing function;
  • PMAC certified;
  • Business Degree;
  • Global sourcing background an asset;
  • MRP experience;
  • Procurement and Supply chain experience;
  • Attention to detail with an analytical mindset;
  • Strategic thinker with a tactical approach to the purchasing function;
  • Experienced in leading and coaching small teams;
  • Industry knowledge of either Pharmaceutical or food services an asset.
