Regional Director, Public Health Nursing (#7422)
The Company
Sun Country Health Region (SCHR) covers the southeast portion of Saskatchewan from the Manitoba border to the U.S. Border, encompassing serene prairie and parkland. There are 27 facilities and 17 public health programs for 55,000 people in the SCHR. The Region covers 33,239 square kilometers.
The goal of the region is to continue to build a province of healthy people and communities, while providing effective, comprehensive and equitable range of services. SCHR operates with the highest standard of care, by using evidenced-based research and guidelines to deliver that care.
The Position
Reporting to the Vice President, Community Health, the Regional Director, Public Health Nursing is responsible for the administrative direction, leadership, management, coordination, and evaluation of public health programs. The position is responsible for establishing and managing public health programs while working with provincial, regional and community partners.
The Candidate
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications, experience and personal competencies:
- Strong ethics and professionalism
- Progressive experience in public health nursing and a demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership
- Five years management experience in a public health nursing environment
- A broad understanding of provincial health care systems
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives
- Communication skills (written and oral)
- Commitment to teamwork
- Sensitivity to diversity and cultural responsiveness
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
